Academic/Cognitive Testing

• When possible, testing sessions will be completed in the child's home. Parents are not present in the room for testing, but should be available for breaks and child comfort. Testing needs to occur in an area of the home that is free from distractions. Cognitive testing can usually be completed in 1 to 1 1⁄2 hours, and achievement testing can usually be completed in less than 1 hour (per area). 

• By definition, most children do not score in the gifted range on tests of cognitive ability and achievement. Therefore, it is likely that this testing will not reveal skills in the range that warrant placement in a  gifted program. I will administer all tests according to standardization procedures and will interpret them accordingly. 
• Report and brief feedback included in cost of the assessment.
